The Compute Capitals of AI are the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, France, Netherlands, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Japan and Estonia in this shortlist. Each has an AI or compute initiative and at least one route to work or stay. The best route depends on nationality, employment, business activity and time spent there.

Where can AI founders and specialists build a second place to live?
The catch: DAFT applies to qualifying US nationals and requires active business capital; it is not a residence-by-savings option.

No single US startup visa exists. The International Entrepreneur Rule grants discretionary parole, while O-1 and E-2 have different eligibility tests.
Is Singapore’s AI and Tech ONE Pass open now?
No. Singapore says applications under the dedicated AI and Tech track begin on 28 January 2027. The existing ONE Pass and Employment Pass have their own conditions.
Can a US founder use DAFT to live in the Netherlands?
Potentially. The Dutch-American Friendship Treaty route is for qualifying US nationals conducting self-employed business in the Netherlands. It is not a passive-income permit.
Is Canada’s Start-up Visa accepting new applications?
No. Canada says the Start-up Visa Program was paused on 30 June 2026. Skilled-worker routes should be assessed separately.
Does Estonia e-Residency let you live there?
No. e-Residency is a digital identity for services and company administration. It does not grant entry or residence rights.

This is a comparative shortlist, not a measured GPU-capacity league table. A proposed project counts as a signal, never as deployed capacity. Immigration availability and eligibility are checked against each linked authority.
The mobility routes were matched to the Product-Engine Mobility Asset Database inventory and checked against the linked government pages on . Confidence is highest for the existence of the linked programs and published regulatory frameworks. Individual eligibility, bank onboarding, tax treatment, processing time and ongoing presence rules require a case review before purchase or application.
